The lessons on the video and DVD are given by Dr Françoise Barbira Freedman,
a medical anthropologist at the University of Cambridge and a highly acclaimed yoga teacher.
Dr Freedman lectures in midwifery and women's health for the NHS and is the founder of Birthlight, a UK based charitable trust that is dedicated to promoting a sensitive approach to pregnancy, birth and babies.
Dr Freedman has lived and worked around the world with many diverse cultures. She has drawn on this wide-ranging experience and combined it with traditional yoga techniques to create Baby Yoga.
Dr Freedman’s pioneering interest in pregnancy, childbirth and beyond, stems from her early anthropological studies in the Amazon.
Her reputation as a yoga teacher is based on her creative development using the flow of breath in relaxed stretches and adapting classic yoga postures for women's needs in pregnancy, after birth and for reproductive health generally.
